In this episode, Mundi Romani travels to Portugal to discover the lives of the Kale Roma who moved from Spain to the western part of the Iberian Peninsula centuries ago. There are about 40,000 to 50,000 Roma spread all over the country, some of them easily recognizable in their traditional mourning clothes on the streets of the capital, Lisbon. But most remain invisible, and their traditional culture is a complex and exciting mixture of the old and the new. Mundi Romani takes you beyond the stereotypes to discover the reality of Lisbon’s Roma.
